French Fried Potatoes
French fried potatoes, commonly known as French fries, are thinly sliced or cut pieces of potatoes that are deep-fried until golden and crispy. They are typically seasoned with salt and served as a side dish or snack. French fries are popular worldwide and can be paired with condiments like ketchup, mayonnaise, or vinegar. Rinse potato sticks in cold water and drip dry in a sieve
Blanch them in oil at a temperature of 160oC (Drip dry well - then place onto a tray )
When potatoes are required place into the deepfrier at a temperature level of 190 - 200oC and fry until golden brown and crisp
Place into a bowl and sprinkle with salt while shaking
Ingredients
1.5 kg Potatoes pre-cut into sticks 6 mm x 6 mm
(Meru Potatoes are recommended) 50 - 70 mm in length
(30 ml) Oil for deep frying
